PomPoms

Some pompoms I created with kite paper, My first try. It was fun but it did not come out well. I Need more practice to get these in perfect shape.

This Diwali Celebrate with Colorful Diyas

This Diwali, I painted diyas and made these more colorful. Really enjoyed doing this.

Found this really nice and creative stress buster. I used Arcylic colors and then applied varnish on a few of these. On some I used metallic pearl colors which actually gives natural shine and no need to apply varnish.

Some of the colors are from Itsy Bitsy.

Card with Spirals !!!

This card is made recently, I was really inspired by Spirals. I feel these add dimensions to any simple look creation. So I searched how to make these, did not get perfect but still was happy. It came out well.

I used stitching on this card, a beautiful stamp, quilled flowers, spirals and last but not the least a nice pattern paper. Spellbinders dies as well. I love these dies, you really do not have to struggle a lot to get a decent cut.

Spoken English Session - 1

Today I started with Spoken English sessions in a Government school near Ramaiah. It was a awesome start, children are shy initially but slowly started interacting. It was 3 of us, myself, Satya and Sri.

We started with the introduction and asked them to introduce themselves in English and wow they were all on track. I was noting down where they can be corrected while Satya was busy taking pictures and Sri was encouraging them.

Later, we asked them to talk to each other over a phone call and some boys were excited, one even thought a theme and did a conversation about ordering Pizza. They have everything, it just needs a little guidance and encouragement.

Lastly we told them their mistakes and told them correct sentence formations. Sri wanted to give some homework and we came up with 10 points which they need to write on and share with us next week.

Notebooks and Stationary Distribution - Day 1

Hmm, 19 June, What a start of this day. This was notebook distribution drive from IISC and I volunteered for distribution. We started at 8, first got the stuff out from store room then loaded into the tempo, had some tea and marched towards Jalahalli.

The plan was to cover 7 schools and 1 by 1 we covered all. Every school we asked the number of students including absentees, arranged the stuff according to the grades and asked children to line up grade by grade for distribution. Well co-ordinated.

And you wont believe how much these children care, when it was time for lunch they asked us if we had lunch and they offered us as well. Even teachers were not allowing us to leave without having some refreshments.

It was tiring but the energy was intact till end and the reason I think was children, their smiles and happiness.

As per the co-ordinator ours was the best group as we were all excited till end. It took 8 hours to finish and come back home.

Photo Frame with Roses

My first photo frame with some roses. Black one is a rolled rose which was the first try and rest were just made for try. Actually I had no plans to make a frame but then I wanted to make some use of the roses. Roses can be a lot better, these were the first roses I did from some tutorial. Sides of the frame are done using magazine papers, rolled and glued. This is not complete it, I need to add a stand for this frame. Not happy with this but OK for the first time. Feedback please?
